TESC125 - Best Wishes

Happy Friday!!! It's time for another great Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge. This week's sketch is for a very happy occasion. My brother is getting married this weekend. I can't believe the day is already here. It went by so fast and now the big day is tomorrow. I used the beautiful Year of Flowers: Violets set from Papertrey Ink along with one of my oldie but goodie SU! sets Elegant Greetings. The main wedding color is Lapis. A lovely deep purple shade. I chose both a light and deep purple to ink up my violets. I wanted the card to look elegant. It was challenging for me not to make something cutesy, so since this is not my normal style I thought I should keep it clean and simple. I added some K&Co. pearls to the center of each flower and added a little bit of shimmer with a Clear Spica pen.

So you wanna play along? Taylor will be looking for her Top Crops and it could be you. We would love to see what you create. Need some more inspiration? Visit the rest of the TESC Sketch Crew to view their fabulous creations:

Poppy Seed Challenge #1

Good Evening! I raced home tonight, so that I could participate in Lisa Johnson's first Poppy Seed Challenge. I just got this pretty new PTI set and couldn't wait to ink it up. So I was coloring along and just having a great old time. I finished my card and was all ready to add to it Mr. Linky, but Mr. Linky was down. Did it close early? NO!!!!!! Say it isn't so! Nope, I am actually just a dope and read the time wrong. The challenge ended at 10am PST, not 10pm PST. LOL! I am still happy to play along and share my card with you. I am off to get some shut eye. Have a great night!

Rachel's Recipe:
Stamps: Year of Flowers - Violets (Papertrey Ink)

TESC98 - Birthdays are the best

It's time again for another Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge. This week's challenge TESC98 was fabulous for buttons, so I added a lot of my stash buttons to create this girlie birthday card. It's been a fun week for me to get a chance to do lots of stamping and be able to share it with you all. I really need to catch up on cardmaking, especially birthday cards. It seems like I am always running around trying to make them at the last minute. Sometimes I even have to *gasp* buy one. LOL! So of course, I knew that this week's TESC card would be a birthday one. I have been hoarding away on my patterned paper from Cosmo Cricket. I really love this sweet Girl Friday line and I finally had the strength to cut into it. LOL! I used the PTI Blooming Button bits set for the main image and sentiment. I added some various PTI buttons for the flowers and embellishment around the sentiment. This card was fun and fast to make. My favorite combo!

Thanks for visiting and I hope you all get a chance to play along with us. Be sure to stop by and visit the rest of the Sketch Crew to see what they have created:

TESC90 - Sweetest Holiday Wishes

Hola Amigas! Woo Hoo! It's Friday and time for another great sketch from Taylored Expressions. This week's sketch TESC90 worked out perfectly for the PTI Gingerbread. He is so cute! I love how the VersaMagic ink in Gingerbread made the image come out so crisp. Amazing color! I really wanted the additional colors to be bright and sweet and I finally got my hands on some Doodlebug Christmas Candy. I basically bought out my LSS. LOL! I added some sparkle with Stardust Stickles around the pink circle layer and on top of the pink brads. Just had a blast making this card! Hope you all play along and be sure to visit the rest of the Sketch Crew to see their wonderful creations: Alice, Jackie, Jami, Lisa, Lynn, Melissa, Monika, Sherrie and Taylor!

Moxie Fab Stamping Challenge!

Hi ya! It's Sunday & I am still stamping. Just love this new Merry Mint collection by American Crafts. It's my fav - Gingerbread! Woo Hoo! I still have some more gingerbread stuff coming. I made this card for the Moxie Fab World Stamping Challenge. I really loved the paper so much I only stamped the sentiments. Stamping only the sentiments was a real stretch for me. The center of the card reminded me of one of my favorite Christmas cookie platters. This was a fun card to make, since it was simple. Hope you are all having a wonderful day and thanks for visiting me.

Best Wishes!

It's official! My big brother and his longtime girlfriend are engaged. I am truly happy for them both. I am very close to my brother and I am so filled with joy. He is the most wonderful brother and friend. I know he will be an incredible husband to Ginny and she will be a loving wife to him. I made this card for my future SIL using the photo I snapped at the engagement ring store. Her favorite color is purple, so I got to use some of my favorite shades. I also used TESC #80 for the sketch. I really hope she likes it. Thanks for visiting and hugs to you all!

ScribbleThis Challenge #1 - White Color Balance

Hello! How's it going? I have been admiring Lisa Spangler's beautiful creations for awhile now and was thrilled when she decided to have challenges. She does incredible work and her photographs are AMAZING! The challenge is to create a card that has lots of white in it and then take photos using the different white balance settings on your camera. I took a photo of each setting, so you could see the difference. I also did not edit any of the photos in Photoshop. I pretty much make my cards at night, so the photos were all taken using my lightbox. So what do you think? Let me know which setting you think looks the best.

Over the Rainbow

Good Evening! My card is just barely squeaking in before the deadline for the PTI Over the Rainbow Challenge. I got caught up in Kung Fu Panda and almost forgot to post this before midnight. I hope you all got a chance to play along too. It's a nice rainy night and a perfect night to stamp. I also got a chance to play with my new Shimmerz paints. I wanted this card to have a nice shimmer without taking away from the elegance. The Shimmerz paints worked perfectly. I painted the flowers and butterflies and it added just the perfect touch. I added a close up so you could see the pretty shimmer (oooo ... ahhhhh).
