Hitting the Books with CCB!

Hola Chicas! It's Sunday! It was beautiful out today in Southern California. Yesterday was a different story. It was so gloomy and humid. It rained a little on Friday too. It reminded me so much of October I broke out my Halloween stamps. The current Amuse Challenge #5 is called "Hitting the Books". You are to create a card based on a book and since I wanted to make 2 cards I went with 3x3 ones. The first one is based on The Devil Wears Prada. Meryl Streep had white hair in the movie, so I decided not to color in her hair. The second card is based on the book Wicked. I loved the play too! Ok, honestly I only saw the movie and the play but hey they were originally books. LOL! The Wicked card is also for the Creatively Cute Bloggers Challenge #7. The challenge required you to basically stamp direct to paper with no more than 2 embellishments. This card was so easy to make. Well chicas I hope you had a wonderful weekend and I will see you soon with a little pic of my Saturday adventure. Gotta finish my card before I post it. Thanks for visiting!
:) Rachel

I Love CAS!

Happy Saturday! Was this the longest short week ever? I think it was just because it was month end at work for me. Having a crazy week and limited time to stamp I am really loving CAS (Clean and Simple) cards. I wanted to use my new Amuse stamps and take no longer than 15 minutes to complete it. I did it! Woo hoo! I think it is pretty masculine enough to give as a birthday card to a guy. Whatcha Think? I was also playing along with Glenda's Random Amusing Challenge 25 (Watermark) by stamping the bamboo to the Kraft cs with versamark. I also used one button to complete the CAS02 challenge at SCS. Hope you are all having a fabulous Saturday and thanks for visiting!

Feliz Cinco De Mayo y Blogoversario!

Oh how time flies ... Sorry I have been away for awhile, but I had to dedicate the last couple of months strictly to my family. I am happy to say things are well and I am excited to get back into the swing of things. I must say I am feeling a little rusty on the stamping front. I am hoping to get my mojo back soon and shake the dust off my stamps. So let's get the Blogoversary celebration started! I thought I would share with you a collection of photos from projects, classes and events I participated in this blog year. Sorry if it looks like a photo collage of myself, but I wanted to take pictures with all these amazing women. There are many fellow stampers whose work I admire greatly and I had the wonderful opportunity to meet some of these incredible ladies this year. Wow! I ran into some great gals! I also got to make lots of new stamping and blogging friends while still spending time with my stamping group friends. These once a month gatherings are dedicated more to laughing and eating rather than stamping. We manage to sneak it in though. Szheaow! (That's for you Moof!) It was really a fabulous blogging year and I hope you enjoy my little recap. Be sure to come back on Saturday for my Blog Candy give away to celebrate my 1 year Blogoversary! Thanks for visiting and have a wonderful day!

These are photos from my Orange County Fair entries. I REALLY love going to the Orange County Fair. I go every year and have so much fun. I made a scrapbook filled with pictures from all the different years. It was a journal of all the things I love at the fair. The next photo is a group photo of all my entries. Good thing the photo is cut off a bit, so you can't see the complete mess on my desk. The last two photos are from my hybrid entry. I just learned to digi scrap & love how the layout turned out.

1. We met Jackie & Theresa while standing in line for Momento Mall. It was something like 3 hours! Jackie and I have become good friends. I am so happy I met her. She helped me a lot with SCS and really encouraged me to get involved with challenges, blogger groups and chatting.
2. We met Patty Bennett during the SU! Campus Tour. We love visiting her blog and she always has great advice for the Udderly Awesome Group.
3. Hello! Kristina Werner in the house! Isn't she adorable? So amazingly talented and super sweet.
4. Shut the Front Door! These are our homegirls (Angie & Missy) from Marketing. We had such a great time chatting with them.
5. Here's our friends Richard & Gabby along with their downline fresh from their win for Best Video advertising convention. Loved seeing Moof on the big screen!
6. Last but not least ~ here are my friends & convention roomies (Martha a.k.a. Moof and Denise a.k.a. Dennis) along with Shelli. I had the best time at convention laughing and acting like a fool with these two girls. Szheaow!

1. Here's the incredible Stephanie Ackerman. I took her Doodling Class and loved it. She is a wonderful teacher.
2. Look at my first doodles!
3. Looky Looky Looky! It's Marianne Walker the Copic Master. She had me at "Airbrush".
4. Check out some of my practice stuff. I do my own stunts.
5. This sweet lady tapped me on the shoulder to tell me that she loved that I brought some Rileys with me to class. Oh my! It's Kristi Ferro from Hanna Stamps!
6. Here's my new buddy Ryann Salamon. We sat together in class and had lunch. She is a fabulous stamper and so nice!
7. I had to meet Jeanne Streiff. Huge fan of her work and she was so kind to me.
8. Here we all are hanging on every word from Marianne.

These are the gals. Aren't they beautiful? Love you guys! We had just finished the day at Scrapbook Expo. We have been stamping together once a month for over 4 years now. Good Times, Good Times!
